Julia is a musical improviser, cabaret host and award-winning solo improvised speaker. She loves tapping into people’s innate creativity, getting them to say ‘yes’, laugh through their failures, and face their fears through laughter.
Julia read English at Oxford and has a postgraduate diploma in people engagement and communications. She’s a Government Communications and Engagement Manager, passionate about making people happier, better performing and more engaged in the workplace.
She’s been teaching at One World for over ten years and her partner is Robert Drury, who’s leading Bowen Workshops, Storytelling and Camp Panto sessions. Together they have a 9-year-old son Storm who, like many of the children at One World, has been coming to One World Camp his whole life.
Musical Improv Comedy
Break through your fears, let loose your vocal chords, and prepare yourself for plenty of laughter. These adult-only workshops will take you through the basics of musical improv comedy in no time.
Confidence building warm ups and games will ease you in gently, before we move on to simple songs and musical scenes. Perfect for absolute beginners, right up those who already have experience in improv.
By the end of the week you’ll have warmed up your vocal muscles, added a few more laughter lines and learnt to separate your comedy raps from your ‘doo ron rons’.
